I agree with your article and I hate the fact that when you post a photo online particularly on any social network that anyone can take your photo and use it else where, much like the ones on the end of the link you posted with the “nice girl+ Facebook” I can’t count how many times I’ve seen FB photo albums made up of peoples photos from around the web (mostly plus size women) that are being made fun of because of their size not because they are half naked gmail

Just yesterday I saw on a website a photo of two plus size girls taken from their Facebook being made fun of because they were "nasty and fat bitches" So where do you draw the line? You could say don't post nude or sexy photos but if you post a photo of yourself at a BBQ there is a big chance someone may post them up else where because they don't like their size, their clothes, their make up or just don't like the person in general.

You know what this list painfully reminds me of?

http://xkcd.com/137/

Obviously not appliable to each and every point, but certainly so to some of them.

You are right - these all sound like they should be common sense. Yet, I know someone who chose to not hire a girl for a sales position after seeing her facebook page.

Martin - you are funny, but I would not want to look at your facebook page. No offense, of course.

[...] 5. Think about what you share with whom. It goes without saying that you should never post anything on the web that you wouldn’t want to see in a newspaper. Consider anything that you post on the web —including items you limit to only “friends” or “friends of friends”— to potentially be in the public domain.
