Because much of this is online, it doesn’t really matter where you live, or where you happen to be at any given moment. You can be in Mumbai and completely plugged in to the echo chamber, or you may be in Palo Alto and completely oblivious to it.

I think it’s funny that you say Silicon Valley. First of all, neither of us live in Silicon Valley. Twitter isn’t in Silicon Valley. As I type this note I’m in Indianapolis and I met quite a few people here who could fit into many of these categories. Same when I went to London. Same when I went to China. Same when I went to New York. San Antonio. Las Vegas. And lots of other places.

I think you’re right, but this is a tech/social media echo chamber, NOT a Silicon Valley one. I know who developed TweetDeck, for instance, and know he lives in UK, as an example.

I saw this via a share by – what’s his name? Lou, or something like that.

I suggest an amendment – rather than saying “You can name one (or multiple) competitors to Twitter,” it’s probably more accurate to say “You have accounts on one (or multiple) competitors to Twitter.”

Good post. I think I’m only guilty of half of these…
