Jeremy, Jeremy, Jeremy,

That's a bold statement about Kaboom! being the best paddle game for Atari 2600. Kaboom! was definitely a great game, but have you played Warlords with all 4 paddles? Now that is^H^H was a crazy, good time. We're talking yelling and picking sides and staying up until 4AM playing.

Hello!

Completely agree that Total Annihilation was the best RTS ever made. Thought I should post on your commment about getting it to work in XP. You should visit the TA Spring Project. These guys are dedicated to recreating the original TA in 3d and they have made a fantastic job of it. They've managed to make it completely mod-able as well and there are quite a few mods as well as the original.

As far as Wing Commander goes, I take it you are aware of the Gemini Gold project?
http://www.priv.solsector.net/news.htm

And you're right about nethack: when it was just you and your 'd', against nine 'o's, a 'j' and an 'h', you knew your time was up.

I've always loved the game Syndicate from BullFrog back in the early 90s and wished they did an update on it. I gotta say I'm a sucker for SimAnt and love the graphics as it is.

Syndicate was released for Amiga and MS-DOS. Basically, it took place in some near-future where the world was controlled by a mafia-style corporations. The concept was that the player controlled various agents and was required to complete a bunch of mafia/corporate espionage activities: completing kidnappings, stealing inventions, bombings, and earning cash to purchase better weapons (yeah, not a sensitive game for our environment). It wasn't a shoot-up game, but it required lots of planning and good timing.
