I've used both Liteon's 1673S and 1693S models. The latter have probelme reading video cds. It takes more than 30 minutes to copy a 650MB video cd (AVSEQxx.dat files) to harddisk , while a normal CD drive (Samsung/LG) performs this task in 8 - 10 minutes.. !! Agre with Peter’s comments.. Then BOOM it stopped reading DVDs movies,data etc. CD reading and writing no problem. Updated firmware installed in another computer and still can't see DVDs.
