Sony Patents The Matrix

Before I elaborate on this post, Wired columnist Adam Penenberg has a great comment on Blogger, the blogging tool we use here at LiveDigitally, explaining some of the finer nuances that we deal with. In other words, Blogger sucks.

But onwards. Sony apparently has patented an idea similar to the Matrix (minus the scary neck implants). While there is no technology, Sony now owns the rights to the idea of entertainment that actually stimulates the brain. So, you could watch a movie where the main character is eating chicken and you could then taste the chicken. Although, how would we know what chicken tasted like. Maybe we think we know but really the computer got it wrong. New Scientist should have more details in their next issue coming out this Saturday.
