Mind control over computers

A team of engineers is working on a solution that enables computer usage with a "thinking cap". The team is focused on providing computer access to disabled people, but clearly has wide-reaching implications.

The setup (not pictured to the right) includes a cap with a series of electrodes that record brain activity. The engineers have built various computer programs which translate brain activity into useful directives and controls. According to the reporter, after some practice, all four of the first test group were able to start using the system after a period of time. Apparently this is the first time ever such a system has come together that does not require any surgery or implants.

If people have become so accustomed to wearing headsets everywhere they go (and in turn making us all look a wee bit crazier as we walk down the road), maybe the thinking cap is next?
