Wi-Fi Moves In

Jupiter is now predicting 28 million wi-fi enabled homes by 2008! Sounds great, although I hope it doesn't mean I'm going to have to select from dozens of available wireless networks whenever I am trying to get online at home (there's already 5 in my range, and I live in a 4-unit apartment building!).

The data is also showing that the living room is the primary room for wi-fi access (79% of homes), which I believe is yet another sign of the shift from TV to the Internet as a form of recurring entertainment. Don't get me wrong, I don't think people are watching much less TV, I just think people are doing a lot of web-suring and online gaming at the same time...
